From Vision to Reality: Residents Guide the Future of Nostrand Houses

Exciting things are happening at Nostrand Houses! Recently, residents came together for a hands-on design workshop, where they explored a variety of materials, touched and felt samples, and voted on their favorite options. The energy and creativity in the room were inspiring, and it was wonderful to see residents actively shaping the future of their community.

The workshop provided a unique opportunity for residents to engage directly in the design process, making choices that reflect their preferences and lifestyle. From color palettes to material textures, every decision helps ensure that the development truly feels like home.

This event is part of our ongoing partnership with NYCHA and the Preservation Trust, focused on creating spaces that are both functional and meaningful. By involving residents in these early stages, we’re not only designing better buildings, but also strengthening the bonds within the community.

Hands-on workshops like this demonstrate the power of collaboration and show how thoughtful engagement can bring a neighborhood’s vision to life, one decision at a time.
